Our Story
At Don Jose’s Churros, family and tradition are at the heart of everything we do. Inspired by his father’s legacy, Miguel set out to honor his memory by bringing the cherished flavors of Jalisco, Mexico, to San Francisco. With the support of his wife, Yesis, they took a leap of faith in 2022, sharing their handcrafted relleno-style churros and homemade savory dishes with their community.
What started as a small dream at the Stonestown Farmers Market has since grown into something truly special. Every churro we make is a tribute to family, culture, and the simple joy of sharing good food. We’re grateful for every customer who has been part of this journey and can’t wait to bring our flavors to even more tables across the Bay Area.
Jalisco-style churros?
Unlike the classic churros found in theme parks and street carts, Jalisco-style relleno churros are a traditional take on this beloved treat, originating from the state of Jalisco, Mexico. These churros are crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and generously filled with sweet, velvety fillings like cajeta, dulce de leche, or strawberry. Each one is made from freshly prepared dough, fried to golden perfection, and dusted with cinnamon sugar for the perfect balance of crunch and sweetness.
